Physical Activity for
Students in Elementary and Middle School
In accordance with policies at EHAB, EHAC, FFA, the district will ensure that students in kindergarten through grade 5 engage in moderate or vigorous physical activity for at least 30 minutes per day or 135 minutes per week.
The district offers physical education for 45 minutes daily to students in middle or junior high school to meet district physical education requirements for these grades. School Health
Advisory Council
During the preceding school year, the district’s School Health Advisory Council held 2 meetings. Additional information regarding the district’s School Health Advisory Council is available from the superintendent’s office. [See also policies at BDF and EHAA.]
Physical Fitness
Assessment
Annually, the districts will conduct a physical fitness assessment of students in grades 3-12. At the end of the school year, a parent may submit a written request to the campus office to obtain the results of his or her child’s physical fitness assessment conducted during the school year.
Vending Machines
The district has adopted policies and implemented procedures to comply with state and federal food service guidelines for restricting student access to vending machines. Tobacco Prohibited
The district and its staff strictly enforce prohibitions against the use of tobacco products by students and others on school property and at school-sponsored and school- related activities. [See the Student Code of Conduct and policies at FNCD and GKA.]
