The State Board of Education rules for school accreditation require that each school district be continuously moving toward improvement of its educational program, especially the quality of instruction being provided for the students of the district. Toward that purpose, the staff of Boles Elementary and the District Site-Based Committee developed a campus plan for improvement of it’s educational programs and for the achievement results being obtained by the students. The staff and SBDM Committee are expected to evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of its Campus Plan for Improvement periodically and to revise and update it as needed.
The Campus Plan for Improvement is not intended to depict all the aspects of the educational program that are already in operation however effective those may be; rather, it should capture those aspects of development, improvement and expansion the campus intends to pursue over several years in order to grow continuously toward an even more effective status.
The Campus Plan for Improvement, has grown out of a previously existing long-range plan, and is the result of input from teachers, administrators, parents, students and members of the community. The plan has been based upon goals determined to be most critical to school improvement and is aligned with Department of Education Performance Goals and NCLB Act of 2001. They are:
1. All students will achieve their full potential.
2. A well-balanced and appropriate curriculum will be provided to all students.
3. Highly qualified and effective personnel will be attracted and retained.
4. The organization and management of all levels of the educational system will be productive, efficient and accountable.
5. The financing of educational services will be adequate, equitable and efficient.
6. Parents will be full partners in the education of their children. Businesses and other members of the community will be partners in the improvement of schools.
7. Instruction and administration will be improved through research that identifies creative and effective methods.
8. All students will be educated in safe; drug-free environments that are conducive to learning.
This plan serves as the central blueprint for the priority areas in which we propose to grow continuously toward more effective educational programs.
